Hello, sweets!
These pieces of jewelry from Natsuko are totally me-friendly--simple, bright, and happy. I love 'em:
Poppies and moons. Who wouldn't love them?! Don't miss this sweet shop (and equally sweet profile)...
Natsuko, said shop's proprietor, is an artist and designer living in Columbus, Ohio, but she was born and raised in Japan, and I think it shows in the simplicity and beauty of her work. She also has a delightful blog, and that's where I found this perfect poem she wrote:
Dream
When I’m happy I create.
When I’m sad, I create.
I create in the morning, day and the night.
Spring, summer, fall, winter, I create.
I created when I was little.
I’ll be creating when I get old.
I create in my dreams.
I dream to create.
I think that about says it all, more sweetly than I could ever have said it. And you don't have to be an artist or designer to be creating, you know. We're all creating our lives each and every day...and often it's more art than science, if you know what I mean...It reminds me also of a quote from Annie Dillard: "How you spend your days, is, of course, how you spend your life." This helps me to make the most of each one, when I can. (I'm not always up to it, but I do try!)
By the by, the whole one-blog-post-a-day thing's not working so well for me. My sanity is suffering. But the job is going well, and I'm enjoying it lots.
Thanks for reading...Cheers!
