I'm not partial to blogging about other home tours 'round the web, but this one I really love, so I'm making an exception. It's from Apartment Therapy, and it features the home of Jaime and Carleton, in Los Angeles, California. I think you'll really love it, and you might miss it otherwise, and that would be a shame.
Take a peek:
This is the breakfast nook. Wouldn't it be nice to sit here and read a magazine, while the little one whips up something yummy in the incredibly awesome little kitchen? It would.
Really cool dining room. I need to leave Olivia's guitar laying around casually like that (above). It would make us look so cool, and we can use all the help we can get (and I'm not mocking--I'm serious).
Their daughter Scarlet's room. (I love that name. I always wanted to have twin girls and name them Scarlet and Ruby, but alas, the fates did not comply. Perhaps that's for the best...? Every time I would mention it to my best friend, she would just laugh. That was not quite the reaction I was going for.)
Pretty cool, eh? They clearly have a great sense of humor, and it shows in their home. Of course, it's still stylish and colorful and bright, and so I love it all the more.
But that's not all! Jaime writes a great blog called 500 Pieces of Prudent Advice for My Baby Daughter, and it's amazing. Perfect reality checks for us, and great advice for little Scarlet. Here's a sample of the kind of wonderful advice she has offered:
"If you ever get sad that you don’t have a garden of your own, remember that you have hundreds of beautiful gardens all over the city and all over the world. Try to erase the language of “want” from your head. You have everything that you need."
That one's from the AT article, but there's lots, lots more that are equally awesome on her blog.
Smart, stylish, and a beautiful little daughter named Scarlet. Nice.
Cheers, all!
xoxox.
Oh thank you for posting about Jamie's home and sage advice. I needed this today - "All I have is all I need". I think I'll go visit a city park this afternoon.
