Hello, my dears! It is time for a wonderful give-away, from sweet Jenny of the fabulous shop Resign (who has been other-worldly patient with me while I figured out how to resize her pictures)!
But look! It's for you, a beautiful Twiggy Bangle, in deep and lovely red! Jenny made it just for this give-away, and you won't ever see it anywhere else...isn't that so cool?
Don't you love it?! Isn't it stunning? I love the organic quality of Jenny's work, which comes from her making a separate mold for each and every piece. No two are alike, and I love that. I actually purchased a bracelet for myself, before I ever featured Jenny, and I adore it. They are even sweeter in person, and a collection has begun...
You can read a bit about Jenny and her shop here, in my post on her...then click on over to Try Handmade to read her interview! You will love her, and her work, I'm tellin' you.
Then, please leave a comment to enter in the give-away. And when you do, in honor of the beautiful red of the bracelet and the upcoming Valentine's holiday, please leave your favorite quote about love. It could be song lyrics, or from a children's book, or from your child. Just as long as it's about love...
Thanks, everyone! And thank you to Jenny, for this wonderful give-away. The winner will be picked randomly on Thursday, February 4...Oh, and don't forget to check Jenny's shop, which I highly recommend.
Have fun, and cheers!
xoxox.
Falling in love is like fireworks - they knock you down and light up your night-world in a moment of fantasy.
But real love is like fireflies - there you are stumbling along in the dusky twilight and are startled by an unexpected loveliness that warms your soul.

Love is patient, love is kind, love does not envy, love is not proud...Love always seeks the truth, love never fails.
And that bracelet is GORGEOUS.

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being in love which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.

Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country. -Anais Nin

"...I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you simply, without problems or pride:
I love you in this way because I don't know any other way of loving
but this, in which there is no I or you,
so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand,
so intimate that when I fall asleep it is your eyes that close."
-Pablo Neruda

It's very clear our love is here to stay
not for a year
forever and a day
The radio and the telephone and movies that we know
may just be passing fancy
and in time will go
but oh my dear
our love is here to stay
together we're
going a long long way
Ella Fitzgerald

what a fabulous bangle! and collection!
way back when there were personal ads in the weekly newspaper [remember those?], there was a man who would post the same quote week after week -- "LOVE IS FRIENDSHIP CAUGHT FIRE!" -- all caps like that. This went on for as long as I can remember, and that quote pops into my head from time to time and I wonder if he ever found his fiery friend...

One of many of my favourite lines or quotes from the musical genius Mark Oliver Everett, from the Eels
"When i wake up to your beautiful smile
Sometimes it takes me a little while
To realize that i am awake
And that living today will be
A piece of cake"

i love her work!
this is really more of a little story…
once when my niece was very young, she found my sister and her husband kissing – she got the concept right but the words adorably twisted and said to them “ooooo, you two are bird-lovers!“, instead of love-birds. to this day in our family being bird-lovers is much better then being love-birds!

'Love comes quietly...
but you know when it is there, because, suddenly you are not alone any more...
and there is no sadness inside you.'
From 'Love is a Special Way of Feeling' by Joan Walsh Anglund.
We had it as a reading at our wedding...I love the illustrations.
And I love the red bangle! Beautiful!

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Joshua Radin:
My hands shake
My knees quake
It's every day
The same way.
Cos then came you.
Then there's you.
I keep your picture
In my worn through shoes.
Then there's you.
Then came you.
When I'm lost,
I look at my picture of you.
