The sun finally came out...
Lovely little games were played...
The merest touch of knitting was attempted...
A bit more crocheting (yes, that's the pouf in the works! Do you think it's supposed to have wavy edges at this point? I'm a little worried...and inexperienced.)
The chalkcloth arrived...
I went upstairs for a bit, leaving the girls and their uncle alone with the chalk...
...and came downstairs to this! No matter. It erases beautifully, serves as a tablecloth should (meaning, easily wiped), and I love it (and the wrinkles are slowly disappearing! Yay!).
And these lights, in the backyard? They stay up year-round. It's lovely to eat dinner next to the patio and see them, merry and bright...In the summer, you can pretend it's an Italian patio. If you squint and have enough wine...
Thanks for swinging by, sweet friends. I hope your day is filled with pleasures, big and small...
Cheers!
xoxox.
Amy, I love the chalkcloth idea! Did you make a template before trimming for your tabletop or did you just use a really stead hand after laying it down?

I just used a steady hand! I thought it would be much more difficult than it was, but I just felt ahead with my left hand, while I cut with my right, and it came out fine. Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy.

Excellent! It looks so fabulous, but the idea of doing some serious math to fit my round table was very unappealing. This gives me great hope!

I still haven't taken the chalk cloth off my table! Yours looks fantastic. I might be worried about the waviness (says one novice crocheter to another). You might try ripping out a row or two and then crocheting a row without any increases, then keeping on with the pattern and see if it fixes anything. I was having the same problem with my paper lantern cover and I found doing a few rows with increases and then a few row without then starting up again with then increases as if I had been doing them all along (number wise). Oh this is not making any sense. Just ignore me or email me.

Thank you, Meg...your advice makes total sense, especially since I have tried this pattern 4 times and cannot make it work. I'm obviously reading it wrong, because I'm sure the pattern is perfect. I'm going to give your method a go...I love crocheting, but I'm just not so good at yarn stuff, it seems...but I'm not giving up...I will email if it all goes south again. xoxo.

I want to gush and gush and gush about how very much I love your blog. Let me just say that I think we are kindred spirits. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. I wanted to comment on every post.
Here are some things that stood out at me.
I love all your color.
I love that you took your daughter out of school to homeschool cause it was best for her.
I love that you love red.
I love all the home tours you do.
I love your cheerful, fun vibe.
I love your style.
I love your blog.
A new (and slightly gushy) fan.

Greta, thank you so much! I am delighted to have you visiting me here, and I could not be more pleased that you enjoy it. You are in Long Beach, right? Let's get together for coffee! There's nothing I like more than a new kindred spirit, you know....:o) Thank you so much, for your kind words...They mean the world to me.

I totally agree with Greta! I came across your blog one day when pictures of your home were on Etsy. Ever since, I have been in love with your decorating style! My house was boring, blah, beige everywhere. I just moved in November so I'm trying to bring more colour into my new house, it is much happier having colour!!! Anyways please keep posting photos of your lovely home, so I can stay inspired!!
