I'm always so excited to meet a new artist. Almost nothing makes me happier than learning about someone through their creative work...That's why I write this blog, after all, and I absolutely love doing it.
So I was delighted when Ally Burguieres wrote to me and introduced herself and her art. She's a wonderful young artist living in New York City (wow!) and is also finishing her Ph.D. Because her art is so filled with color, light and love for all creatures great and small, I am just certain that she is a person I would adore hanging out with. She just seems like a total sweetie.
Oh, but a talented one!...Without further ado, here is a selection of her beautiful work:

Kingston
Templeton, Pinky, and Tuxedo
I love the bold colors and the way Ally's paintings almost look like woodcuts. They have such a folky and whimsical feel on the one hand, yet they clearly showcase a deep love for their subjects...

And guess what? Ally is an animal lover, can you tell?! And she walks the walk: part of the proceeds from all her sales go toward animal rescue programs in the Washington D.C. area.
Please check her website, which includes more pictures of her beautiful paintings, and her blog (which is great). You will love her just as much as I do, I'm sure of it...
Cheers, sweet friends!
You are just wonderful! You must have had a wonderful upbringing. Love mom.
