Hello, again!
I've been wanting to do a give-away for a while now, because I love my readers so much, and you all deserve a little something special. But I have this secret fear that I will put the items I made out there and nobody will want them.
Well, that is, as they say, a "me" problem. And I wouldn't die if it happened, just cry a little. But even if one person wouldn't be opposed to taking these little critters into their home, I'm fine with that.
So...(deep breath)...here goes: Up for adoption are two members of my little puppet family, Mlle. Collette, and Mlle. Matilde. You may recall them from another post, but they have been pining for a new home in the very worst way, and so this is my way of sending them out into the big, wide world.
May I introduce (or re-introduce, as the case may be) to you: Mlle. Collette, a wee birdy puppet:
As stated before, she is "more than a little aware that her legs are her best feature."
And next, Mlle. Matilde, who dreams in her night-dress of becoming a tree...
...so much so that she has allowed a mama bird to take up residence on her head:
They are both very special, and hand-made by me. I think you will love them.
To enter into the give-away, please leave a comment, and tell me either:
(a) of a dream (as in "aspiration") of yours; or barring that,
(b) which of your features you would consider your "best."
Oh, AND which puppet you would like.
And, the regular drill: one extra entry if you blog about it and link to this post, and one extra entry if you tweet about it (even though I hardly even know what that is). Just be sure to let me know, if you do!
I'll randomly pick a winner on Friday at noon, to have their first choice, and then another to have the other puppet. I do hope you will play along...
Cheers, sweet friends! See you tomorrow!
Are you kidding? Those are seriously wonderful! Who *wouldn't* want one?
(But I know what you mean; I've avoided a give-away for exactly that reason.)
I especially like Mlle. Matilde because I'm a big fan of black and love nests as well. And how original to wear one on your head!
^_^
My dream(s)... to get some badly-needed home repairs done and add on a studio for me, then be able to teach classes/workshops.
Thanks for the generous offer! Love your blog!

i have a dream of living in a tree house one day.. high in the trees with books on all the walls and big open spaces for the sunshine to come and say hello!
if that doesnt work, id settle for a wooden cottage near the woods with a beautiful little steam that would whisper hellos and sweet little things as i pick ripe berries nearby. mmmmmm. to wish is to love!
i love dear little Matilde! what a sweet mamma!

oh dear. silly you. these puppets are amazing and beautiful and my new dream is that we all (all of us) are no longer afraid to put our work out there because for every artist there are patrons. And you, my dear, will have lots of them.
I need that Collette. she has legs AND red shoes. I love that she knows that her legs are her best feature. ** May we all flaunt our best features shamelessly. **

They are so wonderful! I love that you decided to share them with the world! yey! One of my dreams is to create and allow myself to become more of an artist. But I have three small girls (4 and under) so time for my fun is at a minimum these days. That's why I love your blog so much-it reminds me that as they get older you don't get loads more time but they can play with you (and they go to school for a good portion of the day;)
But I'm trying not to wish away the time so for now I LOVE checking your blog each day!
Thank you:) Your work and style is wonderful, just wonderful!
PS-I love that birdie's legs and those shoes! Oh the shoes! But I love the little nest on Matilde's head-and Halloween is just around the corner. She would certainly enjoy being out front and center for the holiday!

We love you and your creations! Now throw that "me" problem right out the door!
I could not stop with one dream but a biggy for me is to not have to work as a pharmacist and just focus on art non-stop....including having this house fixed up and a wonderful large multi roomed guest house and studio to have all my art friends come and do our own type of SQUAM with free accommodations for all. I so need to be able to hang out with other artists!

These are both absolutely delightful!!!
No one has asked me what my dream is for a long time now that I think of it. Thank you for making me ponder the question Mlle. Matilde. I can't think of a more noble aspiration than wanting to become a tree.
Beautiful work:)

Oh such sweet puppets! I adore birds and Mlle. Collette is just too sweet!
My dream - to move to a new (to me) house somewhere WARM and have a nice, roomy, well-organized rtoom as a craft studio! The dining room table in my litle townhouse is so not cuttin' it... lol.
Thank you for the chance to win!

I'm dreaming of two things. One is getting the boot off of my foot, so I can walk normally. Breaking it isn't what's cracked up to be. My second dream is becoming a Academic Language Therapist. Love your puppets. Hugs from TX.

Are you kidding I would love to win one of your handmade treasures!
I'm particularly fond of Ms. Matilde.
My biggest dreams right now is of attending SMU's graduate program in Liberal Studies.
I Tumbled (is that a word?) you here: http://www.tumblr.com/tumblelog/cardinalacre

Oh so delightful, these wee puppets. I love both puppets, but I would choose Mlle. Colette. She is so BEAUTIFUL. I love her sweet little bird legs and red ballet flats. She makes me smile.
Hmmm. My biggest aspiration at the moment, is to have my own studio. I have an area where I can work, but when guests come over, I feel I need to tidy up. I would love to have space where the creativity can just flow - be it messy or clean.
Thanks so much for the giveaway, and your talent! I am including a post on my blog http://fernandsprout.blogspot.com about it this evening. I would love for you to check out my blog, too. I am fairly new to this. Thanks again!

Oh Amy - you will get lots of posts! Iam willing to take any of the lovely little creatures off your hands.
I have a dream the barter system will become popular again.
My best feature? my smile :`)
thanks for the chance to be a winner-how nice.

What a gorgeous giveaway! They are both adorable. I will post a link and a tweet http://twitter.com/hugoandelsa....
So many dreams and aspirations....I'd love to run a country guest house and cook delicious food from my garden for my guests....

These are just precious...as is your blog. I am seriously addicted to it! It brightens my day and I always intend to leave comments, but with 4 children an one of them being 4 months old, I usually just have one hand available for computer use---thus, just surfing, not a lot of writing lately!
I have a dream of opening a little shop in an old, beaten down (of course I would restore it) building near our neighborhood. It would be a SWEET shop...with cupcakes, slices of pie, old fashioned candies, etc. A place that you could sit in diner-like chairs or booths and the whole place would be eye candy...bright, vintage-y, yet with a modern edge.
I would love them both, but if I had to choose, I suppose sweet Ms. Matilde would be my choice!
xxooo

I am so happy to see your beautiful puppet dolls again, a little secret, I NEVER enter giveaways because I usually feel too embarrassed and have been reluctant to hold one at my blog for the same reasons you mention above! Aren't we a bit silly?!!! So, I am entering and would be ecstatic with either of these gorgeous girls. Fingers crossed. Oh, my dream is to one day have a space in which to gather and curate beautiful handmade goodies, hold craft sessions and open house gatherings, a retreat for artists and crafters. Hmm, a long shot I think. I will be blogging your give away as soon as I get a chance, oh and twittering too.
Have a wonderful week.

Holy Moly! Mademoiselle Collette! I aspire to create a loving household where all feel welcome....including birds with red shoes! Tres simple.
Posted by: Ashley | August 11, 2009 at 01:51 PM
I love them both, pretty frocks, head nests, red shoes and all.
I have lots of dreams but if I'm just thinking of "me" for once, it would be to find an old shepherd's hut or gypsy caravan to park in our garden under the olive trees and use as my creative space. I like little houses, tents, treehouses and dens, and I'd love a special place like this to work in... I'd also love to act alongside Anthony Hopkins, Ian Mckellen, Harvey Keitel or De Niro, but that's another story...

Me again! Just posted an article on my blog about your gorgeous dolls
http://kickcanandconkers.blogspot.com/2009/08/sweet-sweet-puppet-dolls.html
Does that means I get another chance? Well, if I do, I'd love to learn Swedish, travel around Sweden for a year with my family then buy a wooden chalet on an island outside Stockholm. If only...

Silly silly woman! Your puppets are AMAZING! Mlle Collete has stolen my heart.
From a quote I read once: "The forest would be a quiet place if only the best birds sang."
So dont be afraid to put your work out there. It is beautiful and inspired.
My dream is to overcome this silly agoraphobia and be able to fully experience life "out there".

I would love for Mlle. Matilde to take up residence on my mantle:)
My dream is to illustrate a children's book.
My best feature would be my hands. I love them and all that they do.

I dream of having a comic with actual readers. It could happen!
My best feature is my expresiveness. I have a very effective smile, and a devastating pout. And they get MORE effective as I get older, and develop some wrinkles.:D
It is hard to choose, but I think Mlle. Collette would be most at home in my studio. ;)
