Hello, all!
Stumbled upon the work of Mr. Ben Javens last night, and I'm so glad I did. Not only do I like his work very much, I particularly like the way he holds his prints up for us to see.
So friendly!
Isn't that sweet? That kind of thing can totally make or break my feelings for an artist. But I like Ben, and I like his work, especially that last print. I really do!
And, check it out:
On his blog, Ben's startin' something fun. He had a blank set of wooden nesting dolls, and after painting the first one (above, lovely) and perhaps finding it a bit tedious, came up with an ingenius way of not having to finish it: he's going to send the whole set to his artist friend Simon Peplow, who will complete a doll and then send it on to someone of his choosing. Super cool passing of the artistic buck, so to speak. I'm going to keep an eye on the whole she-bang to see what develops! I will let you know.
Catch you later, peeps. Keep on keepin' on (it being Monday, and all)...
xoxox.
Oh what a great project! Thanks, I'm going to follow along too!
x Helen
