The sweet sweet home of the Thomson family of Kansas City is not new to the internet. Featured previously on Cookie magazine's Nesting blog and on ish and chi, it's clearly a home with lots of inspiration to offer.
I found Galadriel's flickr stream a few weeks ago, and before I realized that she had be profiled elsewhere, I had already fallen hard and fast for her home. Then, after a little research, I realized I was not the first to be smitten. What to do? Should I scratch my plans to show you this sweet home?
But I just couldn't do it--I love it too much. It's furnished almost exclusively with thrift finds, orphaned treasures and diy projects. But it's stylish and colorful and is filled with love and humor and all the things that a true home needs. If you've seen this home before, I know you'll enjoy another peek. If not, you're in for a treat--just look and see...
Galadriel's light and bright kitchen, filled with thrifted finds and bargain bin saves. (The school-room floors are something I've always wanted to do. They look so vintage, so durable, and so good.) All done by Galadriel and her husband Luke, of course...
The bedroom shared by their two boys is a fun, bright, exciting campground of a place. Galadriel's husband made the built-ins, and she designed and painted the bold motifs...
I can envision many late nights covertly reading under the covers in here. It's just that kind of room--filled with lots of cozy nooks for building bedspread-landscapes and enemy-proof hideouts. Lucky boys...!
Did you think that Galadriel's little girl would get anything less that perfectly sweet? Fear not! With more thrift-store finds and hand-me-down gifts, they created a wonderful little nest for Isobel...
And this charming little play kitchen? Galadriel and Luke made it. By hand. Too, too dear for words.
The living room? Super-cute as well. The fantabulous horse painting was just $10 at a garage sale! Talk about an eye...
What unbelievable style at an incredible price. That's Galadriel's way, though. Affordable, stylish, filled with love.
So now I'm sure you understand why I couldn't resist! I'm so happy that Galadriel allowed me to share her beautiful home with you, and I do hope you enjoyed it as much as I did...See more on her flickrstream, if you like.
Bye, but just for now!
xoxo.

I love how you take us (the readers) into people's homes. It gives me the opportunity to escape my life for a brief moment and dream what it's like to live in these beautiful homes.
Thanks!
