It's raining here! Can you believe it? Still very warm, but raining. So, I had to pull a little something out of my hat, so to speak. The kids have been very well-behaved, but I just thought we should do something...This is what we ended up with:
And this is where we started:
I had these houses lying around already. I was going to make something very, very artsy out of them, at one point, but I changed my mind (I do that alot). They are super-cute houses, though, and very affordable. (Find some here!) The tops come off, so you can store little spool dolls and fun things inside...
They just painted the outsides, in their own particular styles, and then we painted the little spool people.
And that's it! Not too much to say here, but I do think it would be a fun party activity, or even a gift, if you outfitted the little house with doll-sized stuff...
Olivia's family (twins)...
And Sofia's family, with pinto-inspired house-paint. Of course!
I think we may be making a little backyard and some lawn furniture this afternoon. And perhaps some very, very tiny margaritas for the moms. ;o)
Cheers!
p.s. I was also just thinking that these would make very cute little "fairy houses" if decorated with sticks, leaves, shells, dried flowers, etc. Turn the little spool dolls into fairies. Yup...next time!
Just discovered your site.
Such lovely images and such busy creative people.
Thanks for sharing!

This is just amazing! I love it. I cannot wait to show this to my boys. Now, I don't know if I'll be able to get houses like that over here, but I'm going to try.
Can you tell me what kind of paint you use? Any recommendations? I love the vividness of these colors. We usually paint with just watercolor, though from a tube so that the colors are more vibrant.
