Looking over one of my favorite blogs yesterday, I saw that Sarah had a post on chalkboard paint. Weird of me, I know, but I continue to be fascinated by it. I would love to paint a whole wall in my home, as shown in her post, but I just can't seem to be able to take the plunge. I worry about the texture on my walls (you know, "suburban bumpy")...
That got me thinking--I remembered a page from this book:
Flea Market Style, by Emily Chalmers, photographed by the awesome Debi Treolar (see "daily inspiration" to the right for samples of her lovely work). Furniture with chalkboard paint! Now, that I can commit to:
Cool, right?!
Yeah, I think so, too.
Ooooh! I was thinking of doing a custom sized chalk board to put in our kitchen! Great minds...
If you do take that plunge, I can't wait to see it! It'll be fabulous!

ok. so you did it again. created another project for me. that is so DANG WONDERFUL. i am so doing this. i've been nesting like crazy and was looking at our homemade media center thinking that it totally needs help. so i'll have hubby put the top doors back on and we're gonna chalk the doors. YES!!!! if you check out my flickr you'll see a little of what i've been up to. i'm working on an old chalkboard right now and had thought about adding chalk to the fronts of my faux beadboard kitchen cabinets- just the stripey parts. anyway, my wheels are turning now!

I loved that book when I got it out of the library and I remember that picture. Great! Even if you don't like it it is only paint. Go for it!
