I know that I just did a post about an etsy seller and artist that I love...And now I am going to do another.
But...there is a very cute baby involved, so I know that you will not only indulge me on this, but you will also smile and say "awww," and that is such a good feeling that I couldn't resist.
I'm telling you, this is the sweetest little company to come down the pike in a while, folks...Take a peek!:
When Gilliane of wooli had her sweet little girl, she found herself at a loss to find attractive, soft toy boxes. As she is understandably inspired by the beautiful Canadian wilderness in which she lives, she created this adorable Northern Forest Toy box (above) that is easy for little hands to open and close and causes no bumps or bruises.
This is a ski-inspired version, and I love how the boxes can become playthings of their own...It wouldn't have been long at all before my girls had had a Polly Pocket skiing down these slopes!
Some of the designs are simpler, for the more aesthetically modern-minded baby...Everything is made of 100% wool felt, and sewn with love and care. And the little ones can begin helping Mommy ever-so-much sooner when they are not in danger of a head-bump or pinched fingers! (Look, it's every mama's dream!):
Gilliane also makes lovely accessories for the diaper-toting parents among us, and they are just as stylish as the toy boxes:
I just love her designs, with bright accents and that beautiful grey felt. I would have to find another use for these after my baby outgrew them, and the great thing is, that wouldn't be hard to do at all.
Check her etsy shop here. Bonus: cute baby pics throughout.
Cheers!
Oh, how I love this artist's work. It is simply beautiful in and of itself, but when he puts titles to them, they freakin' soar. Look!:
"He Thinks My Sudden and Terrible Mood Swings Are Cute"...
"The Risk I Took Was Calculated, But Man, Am I Bad At Math"...
"My Modus Operandi Is Dial Up the Awesome and Break the Knob"...
I mean, come on, that's kick-a**. You have just got to love it when someone is as technically adept as this, and also can come up with a title to make you laugh out loud. Again and again.
Check his shop here, Mincing Mockingbird. You won't be sorry.
*Yup, that's another awesome title, and one I am actually adopting as my "Personal Motto". I hope he doesn't mind. It just really sort of sums up my life.
Look! Look at these lovely prints that I bought here before I totally ran out of money!
"Folk Rockers"! I. Love. It. They are by Tiel Seivl-Keevers of tsk tsk, who lives in Australia. I've been waiting and waiting for these to come, and I am definately not disappointed. She doesn't need any shout-outs from me (Who does, really? That would be sad!) but she is so awesome, you must check out her work.
We may be broke, but these little guys sure do make me happy.
So, so worth it.
(Okay, three blog posts in one day is my absolute limit. I swear.)
Cheers!
So I might as well quit blogging, because I found the blog that I wanted to have been doing all this time, but she did it right. Mine is all about my stuff, and that's not how I planned it to be. Go here and you'll see what I mean...
In the meantime, here's more stuff.
I love these dolls from Deb Van Zyl. They are sisters. The bigger one is in 5th grade and the little one is in 1st grade. It was all I could do, I tell you, not to snap them up. But I prevailed!
I did not prevail here. Instead of the full-on doll, however, I managed to limit myself to just the fridge magnets. (I enjoy looking at them as I fill the coffee-pot in the morning. Even though Jared does that 9 times out of 10. He's a really good sport.) From the incredible Mimi kirchner. Absolutely brilliant. Who else would think to use toile fabric to make a series of tattoo-men dolls?! No one, that's who.
And lastly, and on a whole different note, look at this sweetest of all little corners in Kari Anne's home. It is so sweet and simple and perfect, it makes me want to cry. But, then, I'm like that lately.
Okay, gotta go. We're forming a local etsy group, and it's our first meeting tonight. Yay!
Cheers, all!

Hi there.
It's a show-and-tell kind of a day. So...here.
My beautiful new Greta doll from Mary's Granddaughter. I adore her. And the ampersand from a few posts back--I was going to decoupage it, but Stephanie inspired me to go polka-dot. Hers is way cuter than mine, but I wasn't in a perfectionist kind of a mood. I stamped the dots with a wine cork; that should give you a pretty good idea of my "mind-set" at the time.
Here's Stephanie's. I don't think she used a wine cork.
Several things over on etsy are making me smile today--and these are not even the ones I have purchased:
"Hand Soap"! Get it? From here. Hey, it made me laugh, and that's not always easy to do, these days...
This? This is truly sweet. Oh, how I wish Sofie were younger so I could buy it for us her. But I can't, she's too big for little dollies like this now...So I'll just enjoy the picture and this lovely shop.
Okay, I did purchase this one. I love it. It is my new favorite phrase to use with the girls. I said it to Sofie the other day and she got this horrified look on her face and said "Um...like forever?" I laughed and explained that she would just have to leave the room. She not only looked very relieved, but she then spent a good deal of time pondering whether it was worse to have to be consistently nice, or all alone.
Jury's still out.
Have a great one, all!
I'm a lucky wife and mom of two lovely little girls in San Diego, California, trying my best to grow up.
